When I was in my last year of school I heard of epigenetics for the first time.
So I’d ask: “How important are inherited, non DNA-encoded variations in populations for the development and overall biology of living things and how do they work?”
At the time I couldn’t quite wrap my head around that. Would have been great to have a scientist explain it to me.
I think I would ask about the areas with most job opportunities, I’d ask for examples too. We should all aim to work on something we like, because it makes all the difference, but it is important to be informed of the realities of the job market, tips and clues are useful.
