There’s no cure at the moment, but plenty of treatments – that is to say – we can make an asthma attack go away, but we can’t say it will never come back.

Some people do grow out of asthma as they get older. I had asthma as a child – but I don’t have it any more. I think I grew out of it in my late teens.

I have no idea but, like Dave, I had asthma as a kid, but when I was about 7 it just stopped.

Asthma is essentially your body having a bit of a freakout when dust and stuff like that gets into your lungs. Your immune system sees the dust and thinks it is a pathogen and produces lots of a antibody called IgE which causes inflamation and other symptoms of asthma. The best way to treat asthma would be to stop the actions of this IgE. In terms of a cure I’m not sure as having asthma can come and go with age as David said.

There isn’t one at the moment, as the others just explained…

I never had it, but know people who used to and now don’t. My mother on the other hand, appears to have had it only since she was about 60, she does not remember any symptoms before that.
