Question: are you a crystal whisperer?

I guess it’s a bit ambitious but I could call myself a crystal whisperer, yes. People do bring me problematic crystals and ask me to handle those they do not dare to touch, out of fear of breaking them.
Crystals are at the heart of a crystallographer’s work so we tend to start talking about them (and sometimes to them!) as if they were pets. Sentences that you will hear a crystallographer say include “must go see if they are ok”, “time to go feed my crystals”or “look at this picture of my crystals, they have grown so fast”!
