• Question: do you think anyone will ever find a cure for cancer?

      There will never be a silver bullet, one size fits all cure. Cancers are caused by so many different mutations that it’s just impossible.

      I think we’ll get to a point where we can effectively treat most common tumours though.

      Sadly not – there are too many different types and different causes for there to be one magic pill that cures all cancer.

      But we are getting better at treating the more common forms of cancer…

      All cancers are different and can result from so many different mutations that a one shot cure is very very unlikely for all cancers. there have been a lot of major breakthroughs in treatment, prevention and diagnosis though.

      Some cancers have a very specific cause such as cervical cancer. Pretty much all occurances are linked to contracting the HPV virus. Getting the virus didn’t mean you definitely got the cancer but everyone that did develop the cancer was infected with the virus. They now have a vaccine for the virus and should be able to beat that cancer.
