In theory it is possible to travel forward in time through an effect called time dilation, if you travel close to something with a really high gravity like a black hole. If you looked at a clock on earth and a clock in a black hole the one in the black hole would tick slower. This means one minute to the person looking at the baclk hole would be several minutes to you in the balck hole.

I really don’t think it will happen – I think you could trick the relative passage of time by travelling very quickly (near the speed of light) or by living near a black hole, but I don’t think you could actually travel in time.

You certainly can’t travel back in time.

Time travel happens every day, you are doing it right now as you read this message. By the end of it, and because I write messages that are too long, you will have moved forward in time by almost a minute 🙂

So we know we can travel forward. We also know we can travel forward at slightly different speeds, depending on how fast we are moving in space. Question is: how fast will we be able to travel? Not sure.
I am not an expert, but from reading what other scientists say it is unlikely that we can travel back in time. So we may or may not want to travel forward!
      😉
