It takes about 8 seconds for the rays to get to the Earth. So if ever we look at the sun (no directly that’s dancerous) we’re effectively seening a picture of it from 8 seconds ago.
The sun light travels at 300 000km/s, and Earth is (according to wikipedia, I don’t know these things by heart!) 150 million Km away, so if you do the maths you get over 8 minutes. Fast!
