• Question: how will polution affect the geology of our planet?

      Well, as rocks and sediments are created, they trap air from the atmosphere as it is when they are laid down – so rocks made 100,000 years ago will have trapped the air as it was 100,000 years ago. Rocks made today with have polluted air and will contain to polluted rocks and sediments.

      Really nasty industrial was can also damage and seep into rocks and contaminate them as well.

      It’s not very nice really.

      Pollution can affect the type and number of life in the water, by changing the pH, amount of nutrients and temperature. As a consequence even the water evaporation changes.
      By disturbing the composition of air, pollution also changes how the global temperature is regulated and this affects sea levels and weather…
