The things I work on tend not to get named after people. They have really boring functional names. For example Predicted Extracellular RxLR dEER Domain 2 and Mitogen Activated Protein Kinase Kinase Kinase Epsilon are the two proteins I’m focusing most of my attention on at the moment.

I’m also not particularly vain and might feel uncomfortable having something named after me, I don’t know why but it just wouldn’t feel right.

If I HAD to pick something, I’d say a new species of plant.

An asteroid or a planet. It’s more likely that I get to name a protein domain or structural motif after myself though.

The Dave Domain. Sounds pretty cool.

Having an element names after me would be pretty cool. It would live there forever on the periodic table. “Horrellium” Maybe.

An atomic particle! People could shoot Susanas at atoms, or accelerate Susanas around a synchrotron.

Or perhaps a pain killer? Here, have a Susana to make you feel better 🙂
