During my second year after the 4th exam in 5 days I was feeling pretty unhappy about my choice of studying science. But I got through it and was much happier during my third year of uni and now.

Not really. I got very frustrated in the second year of my PhD when nothing seemed to work and I felt like I was treading water for months, but that just put me off that particular project rather than science in general.

I’ve never really disliked science – I’ve become annoyed and frustrated occasionally when stuff hasn’t worked – but I’ve never disliked it.

Science itself no, but research in specific projects can be very frustrating when things do not work or results take too long (our time and money is very limited!). Crystals for example can be true pests, when you want to move on with your work and they decide to grow sloooooooooowly during weeks or months….
