      By eye you can see crystals that are just about smaller than 1mm in their largest dimension, but you will struggle to be able to tell its shape. Under a standard light microscope we can see crystals with sides down to 0.010mm.
      We produce tiny tiny crystals of just about anything: water, DNA, proteins, salts, etc. The smallest crystals can be formed with the smallest molecules, like water or sodium chloride.
