I have no problem with it.

Despite what people might think, it’s remarkably safe and it produces far more power than things like wind or hydro electricity plants.

Is it better than renewable sources like bioethanol? Maybe. I think we need to use everything we have at our disposal to get away from fossil fuels though. Bioethanol uses material that would otherwise go to waste, which is great!

In an ideal world, we’d get all our energy from renewable power sources – however, *at the moment* we aren’t clever enough to do this – so nuclear is our next best option – it’s cleaner than burning fossil fuels.

I think nuclear power is great. It produces so much energy and there are so many safety precautions taken. There was a question the other day about nuclear incidents and if I remember correctly there have only ever been 50 or so nuclear events in the time nuclear power stations have been active and , many of these were classed as anomalies where nothing really happened.

We definitely shouldn’t give up on renewable energy, solar towers in the deserts for example are amazing inventions. They reflect the heat from the sun to melt salt, this stores the heat really well and can be used to boil water to drive turbines and create electricity.

More nuclear power and more amazing inventions like that are what we need to get away from harmful fossil fuels.
