You would have to get 3 a levels with at least 2 sciences and maths or english are always helpful. To get onto a vetrinary science course you would probably need 3 As in your a-levels as it is really competitive. There are lots of universities in the UK that offer undergraduates in Veterinary science. Good luck.

A degree in veterinary science. To get onto that course you’d need three A levels, probably straight As in Biology and Chemistry then one other rigorous academic subject like Physics, Maths or English.

All your sciences at GCSE and A-level, and a degree in Veterinary medicine – at least – that’s what my Dad got – he is an Equine vet and one of the course vets at Haydock and Aintree racecourses!

If you can contact you local equine vet, and ask to accompany the vet on his rounds, you might be able to get some useful work experience.

If you are based in the North West, I might be able to set you up with either my Dad or one of the equine vets in his practice – comment below!
