      Genetics.

A person’s genetic make up can mean that they have different forms of genes that are important for vision or eye-development, and this may lead to bad eyesight. Or maybe really good eyesight! It depends on how you look at it.

It all comes down to genetics. It could be something as simple as a single mutation or it could be lots of mutations. One little thing going wrong can cause a lot of damage. We get lots of mutations happening every day but thankfully our bodies are quite good at dealing with them.
